For some people, a motorcycle is just a motorcycle. For others, it is a companion with which to overcome the ups and downs on the road of life.
Asphalt dreams are daydreams that transport you to a world of memories, stories, and fantasies. As the sounds of the engine and the road blend together, vibrations flow through your body, and the landscape passes you by, you lose yourself in this state. Your hands grip the handles of the Ape, your feet rest on the footrests in front of your body, and your body braces itself against the wind. The first blurred images appear on the horizon, inviting you on a journey into your inner self. You forget space and time until you either reach your destination or your aching butt reminds you to glance at the odometer to plan a fuel stop.
My landscape photography is mostly created while traveling—as a quiet pause to reflect on our beautiful world. It invites mindfulness: to look at what we often overlook in everyday life. Because much remains unnoticed and forgotten while we are trapped in the confines of our thoughts—busy with maintaining our living conditions instead of truly living.
First, I develop a concept, then I plan the shoot, get the props, take the photos, edit them, and finally print them out.
