The Journey

The Journey

A young man set out on the journey of his life. After a few years, he encountered the sun. He was fascinated by its light, which enchanted the world in the morning and evening. He enjoyed its fire, which flowed through him during the day, giving him vitality and filling him with joy. He thought: With you, sun, I will conquer the world. Your energy will drive me, and no one can resist your fire. But one day, a storm rolled in, and when the clouds cleared, the sun had disappeared.

The young man was very sad and knew that he would miss the sun. But what could he do except continue his journey? One night, he found a star. The star shone particularly brightly and was close to the north of the sky. The man thought: You, my star, will show me the way, you will give me orientation, and with you I will find the way to the sun. He turned south, with the star behind him. One day, however, he could no longer find the star at night. The man thought, now I have lost the star, I will never find the sun again.

There he saw the moon and fell into a deep sleep from exhaustion. He dreamed of the sun and the star. When he woke up, he thought to himself: I will set up camp and wait for the moon to give me sweet dreams of the sun and the star. So he set up camp and, when the moon rose, dreamed again of the sun and the star. But with each passing night, the moon grew smaller and smaller until one night it disappeared completely. The man was desperate. He thought: Now I have lost the sun, the star, and the moon. I only have myself left.

He felt very lonely and decided to continue his journey. He wandered for many years and was his only companion. The longer his journey lasted, the more he learned to appreciate his companion. He thought: I have myself, I can rely on myself, I have traveled many miles, I will not disappear, and I have always remained true to my dreams.

A little later, a hiker crossed paths with the elderly man. Her hair was white, and she too had traveled a long way. He looked into her face and recognized himself. When they touched, her warmth flowed through him and he felt the sun. He saw the star in her eyes, and when she fell asleep in his arms, it was as if the moon was enveloping them in its soft light to give them peaceful dreams.
